Advocacy

The roots of the Community Living movement are the efforts of families of children who have developmental challenges. As such, C.L.S.C. feels its primary mandate is advocacy. Our staff and volunteers make themselves available to parents or individuals who would like to be accompanied when meeting representatives from schools, other community professionals, or politicians on matters that directly affect them or their families.

In the event that a family or an individual would like an independent advocate to support them in relation to services sponsored by C.L.S.C., the agency will provide the names of contact people from other community agencies or the Program Supervisor from the Eastern Regional Office of the Ministry of Community and Social Services.
