Exploring options for home is one of the most important aspects of future planning. With careful planning, many have found effective ways to work alongside people with disabilities in establishing innovative housing opportunities. If you’re looking for a little inspiration to think about creative housing solutions, check out The National Housing Forum—a brand new event from the Planning and Facilitation Collaborative (PFC), all about housing and home!
The PFC is a national online community that we launched in 2023 for people who care about building capacity to offer quality, value-based future planning and facilitation supports to people with developmental disabilities and their families. With access to a growing library of courses and resources, members can network, share knowledge and experiences, and learn from one another through conversations, educational opportunities, and special events.
We’re so excited to share this free event hosted by the PFC in collaboration with Diverse Family Roots, and invite you to attend the National Housing Forum on October 16th from 7pm to 9m EDT. This 2 hour event is open to everyone (including those who are not members of the PFC), and will feature six powerful stories from across Canada that all focus on people with developmental disabilities, their families and allies who are working on building a creative solution for home.

If you know someone who would benefit from this event, be sure to share the registration link with them.
This event also marks the launch of a dedicated housing and home planning space within the PFC. If you’re in the field of planning and facilitation and looking for an opportunity to connect and collaborate with other professionals and like-minded individuals, consider becoming a member of the PFC. Members gain ongoing access to events like this, networking opportunities, and tools to support your work! To learn more, visit https://www.planningforagoodlife.ca/.
